Disney Deal of the Day: Up to 40% Off Star Wars and Finding Dory

Today's highlighted Deal of the Day is a dual "up to 40% off" sale on both Star Wars items and Finding Dory Items.

What it is: These are actually two, different sales. One of them is on Star Wars items like costumes, toys, and more. The other is on Finding Dory items like toys, back-to-school, and more. What they have in common is that both sales are up to 40% off and both of them END SUNDAY.

Who it's for: There are many items for a variety of ages in each of these sales, so there's really something for everyone here. There are accessories for adults, costumes for kids, school supplies, and a variety of other items. Pretty much, if you like Star Wars, Finding Dory, the ocean, or cute stuff, there's a good chance you might find something you like.

How to get it: The both of these sales are online only exclusives. You can find the Star Wars sale here and the Finding Dory sale here. You don't need a promo code. The discount is automatic. Remember, this sale ENDS SUNDAY.

My Thoughts: I'll take these one sale at a time because they have fairly different items in some way.

For the Star Wars sale, I went through the items, and it does look like the majority of items actually are 40% off, so that's a positive.This sale is pretty diverse but, it focuses primarily on kid's costumes, figurines/die casts, adult accessories, t-shirts, and random housewares. Also, the Wampa Hat pictured above is a part of this sale so, that alone is a reason to check it out.

Whether this is a good sale or not will really depend on what you're looking for. Most of the Die Casts are only on sale about 20% whereas most of the phone cases are 40% off and some are 50%, an even better deal than what is advertised. Most of the figurines are 33% off while almost all of the T-shirts are right at 40% off. There are a number of kid's costumes on sale but, as I discussed in my post on the Halloween Free Shipping promotion, a lot of these costumes are still pretty expensive. Essentially, your mileage on this sale is really going to vary depending on what you're looking for.

My recommendation for approaching this sale would be to sort the items alphabetically. For the most part, this will give you the items grouped by character, i.e. most of the BB-8 items will all be together, the Darth Vader items will all be together, etc. This will make it easier to find items that might be of interest to you. Once you have an idea what you want, you can hit "quick look" and most of them will say how deep the discount is. Let's move on.

The Finding Dory sale is a bit different. Although it says "up to 40% off" it looks to me more like sale is averaging 40% off. While a lot of items were only 33% off, there were quite a few that were even more than 50% off. Overall, I really like this sale.

Pretty much all of the plush (with the exception of Tsum Tsums) are exactly 40% off and a lot of the Back to School items have deeper discounts. Also, the items that are less discounted are mostly the types of things that really never go on much of a sale, like Tsum Tsums. I definitely think this is a worthwhile sale to check out.

If you're looking for something specific and you don't see it in the sale, go ahead and search the site generally, they might have it.
