Deal of the Day - $20 Off Orders of $100 or more and a Special Deal on Pete's Dragon T-Shirts!

Today's Deal of the Day segment will actually focus on two different deals because they're both fairly time sensitive.

First up: $20 Off & Free Shipping on an order of $100 or More, extended to END TONIGHT.

What it is: This is an online only sale giving you $20 off and free shipping on an order of $100 or more ending Sunday.

Who it's for: Anybody who was planning on spending $100 or more on the Disney Store website.

How to Get it: This deal is available online or by phone only by using promo code SAVE20. You can check it out here, but note, this sale has been extended to END TONIGHT.

My Thoughts: This sale seems kind of "meh" to me. Since there is already an ongoing Free Shipping promotion for orders of over $75, the Free Shipping portion of this sale is pretty much moot. So, it's really just $20 off of your order of $100 or more. Ok, that's not bad. If you place an order of exactly $100, it's like getting 20% off, so that's pretty good. But, the more you spend after that, the more this starts to seem like kind of a lackluster sale. It's fine but, if you're planning on spending that much, I would check here for other sales before I committed to this one. You may find there are better deals available. Also, as you will see in the Fine Print below, there are a LOT of exclusions.

The Fine Print: This is the fine print that Disney published with the sale. This sale has a lot of Fine Print but, stick with me because I talk about yet another, different sale down below.

That was a ton of Fine Print, but keep reading because there is one more time-sensitive sale we wanted to make sure ya'll knew about it.

Second up: is the Pete's Dragon Limited Release T-Shirt Sale, ENDING TUESDAY.

What it is: This is a sale on the Limited Release T-Shirts for the new Pete's Dragon movie.

What it Costs: the sale is $44 for 2 T-Shirts. You can mix and match styles from the selection here.

Who it's For: anybody who's a fan of the new Pete's Dragon movie, anybody who likes Dragons, and anyone who likes T-shirts with unique art.

How to Get it: This offer is available online only. You don't need to add a promo code, if you put two eligible shirts in your cart, you should get the discount. This sale ENDS TUESDAY.

My Thoughts: Well, 2 for $44 means these shirts are on "sale" for $22 each. That's pretty much what the regular price for most Disney T-Shirts is so, I wouldn't exactly call this a fabulous bargain from that perspective. However, because these are Limited Release shirts showcasing the art of Pete's Dragon, they are listed as having a regular retail price of $24.95-$29.95 each. So, from that perspective, $44 is potentially a discount of $15.90, which is not too bad.

I will admit I was a bit incredulous when I first saw this sale because the pricetag seemed pretty high for just two T-Shirts, but having seen the product, I can kind of see the justification. Yes, it's a lot for 2 shirts but, they are really beautifully designed and unique. And, of course, the Limited Release factor means that not everyone will be wearing one. There are three styles to choose from and you can mix and match the ones you like. 

Overall, the price is definitely a bit high for me but, if you love the art, I'd say you should probably go ahead and jump on this one.

Worthy of Note: You need an even number of shirts for this promo. If you have two T-shirts, it will be $44. If you have three, the first two will be $44 but the third will be regular retail. If you have 4, you will have two sets of $44 each.

Pro Tip: Unlike many sales of this type, the discount is taken in the order in which you place things in the cart. I put the two most expensive shirts in my cart first and then put the cheapest (the $24.95) shirt in my cart last. My bag automatically gave me the first two shirts at $44 and left the cheapest one at regular price. So, if you're thinking that all you really want is two of the adult shirts and one of the child-sized shirts, definitely add the kid shirt last and get the deeper discounts on the more expensive shirts and just pay retail for the cheapest one.
