Deal of the Day - Up to 50% off Back-to-School

Hey there Disney Fans!

Today's highlighted sale is an updated version of the Back-to-School sale I previously talked about here. The OLD sale had backpacks on sale from $15 and lunch totes for $10 as well as $8 zipper kits of school supplies and $6 water bottles. The NEW sale is a 50% off sale.

So, what's the difference? Is 50% off a better sale? Are there bigger deals? Well, lets talk about it.

What it is: Another Back-to-School Sale

Where to get it: This one is available online and in stores and outlet store but NOT in Parks locations.

Is it a Better Deal than the Last Sale? Well... it's actually mostly a more confusing deal. When you click on the sale, the first items that come up are "sets" but, when you click on the sets, you find that they are just individual pieces with complementary patters and only some of the items listed will LOOK like they're on sale. At first I thought maybe not that many items were included in the sale, but then, I found that when I started putting items into my cart, quite a few of them actually were on sale. So, you pretty much just have to check. Note: a few of the items really aren't on sale and are only listed in the sale section because they're suggested to go with other items that are on sale so, make sure you check everything in your bag before you check out.

But is this sale a better deal than the previous one? Well, most of the items are still listed at the exact same price as they were in the previous sale so, it's not all that much better but, there are a few items that are more deeply discounted than they were previously.

So What's Different? There are actually a few items that are different. This Tinder Bell Light-Up Backpack is listed for $12.99 and its accompanying lunch tote is only $7.99 so, those are distinctly better prices than what you would have found before.

Also, while most of the zip-up stationary kits are still on sale for $8 (original retail $14.95), there are a few, more expensive ones that were not included in the original sale that are now on sale for $9.99 (original retail $16.95). Visit here to see what is included in each of those.

Another difference is that this sale specifically includes clothes. Several pieces for both girls and boys are available including many items that are $8 each.

My Conclusions: Issues with confusing pricing aside, this is a pretty good sale. Most of the items that were on sale before are still on sale for the same price. Additionally, some items have deeper discounts and a few items that were not on sale with the previous deal now are. Overall, it's a pretty good sale. However, as I noted in my previous article about the Disney Store Back-to-School sales, while the Water Bottles and Stationary Zip Kits are both pretty good deals, Disney backpacks at Walmart are still distinctly cheaper.
