Disney Deal of the Day: 20% Off Orders of $75 or More! ENDS TONIGHT!

Hey there Disney Fans!

Today's Highlighted Deal of the Day is 20% off of orders of $75 or more. Hurry though, this one ENDS TONIGHT!

Ends Tonight - Online Exclusive - Last Day to Explore Our Amazing COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND SAVINGS - Take 20% Off Your Order of $75 or More - CODE: SAVE20
©Disney
What it is: This is a sale where you get 20% off of your order of $75 or more.

Who it's for: Anybody ordering more than $75 worth of stuff.

How to Get it: Put more than $75 of qualifying merch (see Fine Print below for details) into your bad and then use promo code SAVE20 at checkout. This is available online only, not in stores.

Worthy of Note: Since you're already spending more than $75, go ahead and use promo code SHIPMAGIC as well to get Free Shipping. Remember, when you use multiple promo codes, you have to put them in and apply them one at a time.

My thoughts: I love this sale and I actually chose to take advantage of it. I broke my favorite Disney Tumbler this week, causing me to sadness-order several new Disney Tumblers to fill the hole. None of them were on sale, but when you are suffering a personal Disney-loss, there is no time to wait for clearance. Fortunately for me, this general 20% off sale was going on and I was able to get 20% off and Free Shipping on my order.

This is a great deal if you're looking to buy somethings that maybe aren't on sale (like my grief-tumblers) or if you're looking to up your discount on something that isn't marked down as much as you might like. For example, if you're still looking for Halloween costumes, this is a great sale to hit.

Let's say you've got a Rey, Thor, and Merida to buy for. Those costumes are regularly $49.95 each for the girls and 44.95 for your young Marvel fan. Even on the current Halloween sale, those costumes are still $34.96 each for Rey and Merida and $31.46 for Thor. But, when you add on the 20% off, you take them down to $27.95 each for the girls and $25.17 for Thor. So, in total, that takes costumes that would have been $144.85 plus shipping and tax regular price, down to $81.09 plus tax on sale. That's a pretty good savings. Definitely a sale worth hitting.

The Fine Print: This is the Fine Print Disney Published to go with this sale. I added bullet points to make it easier to read.

Deal of the Day: Disney Plush Sale!!!

Hey There Disney Fans!

Today's highlighted Disney Deal of the Day is a massive Plush Sale! There is a LOT going on in this sale including $10 Small and Medium Plush, $20 Large Plush, and $4 Mini Tsum Tsums!

Ends Tea-Night - Online Exclusive - In Honor of National Mad Hatter Day - We've gone mad! - Large Plush $20 - Small & Medium Plush $10 - Mini Tsum Tsum $4 - reg. $5.95-$44.95 - Select Styles
©Disney
What it is: This is a sale on various plush from the Disney Store. Large Plush that normally run $24.95-39.95 are now $20 each, Small and Medium Plush that are usually $14.95-19.95 are now $10 each, and Mini Tsum Tsums that usually run $5.95 are now $4.

How to Get it: This sale is available online and by phone only. It is not available in Disney Stores or Parks. You don't need a promo code, the sale prices are already shown.

Sorcerer Mickey Mouse Plush - Medium - 24''
©Disney
Is it a "Good Deal": Yes, if you are planning on buying plush, these are good sales. One word of caution though: Sometimes it's tempting to "maximize" your deal by purchasing the $39.95 Minnie for $20 rather than the $24.95 Minnie for $20. However, just realize that that Minnie Mouse that was originally $39.95 is also 27". That's over two feet tall. If you have space for a Minnie the size of your toddler, that's great, you saved 50%! But, if you really don't have the space for a massive Minnie Mouse, you might be better off going for the 17" one and be ok with the fact that you only save 20%.

Obi-Wan Kenobi ''Tsum Tsum'' Plush - Mini - 3 1/2'' - Star Wars
©Disney
My Thoughts: This is a great sale. There are over 130 items included and they span everything from Mickey and Friends to Marvel and Star Wars. There is pretty much something for everyone who loves plush in your life. My recommendation would be to go ahead and get on that Christmas shopping now, while these are on sale. There will probably be more sales later, but remember, the longer you wait, the more likely it is that the thing you want will sell out. Happy Plushing!

Deal of the Day: 2 for $44 Limited Release Beauty and the Beast Tees!

Hey Disney Fans!

Today's highlighted Deal of the Day is 2 for $44 on Limited Release Beauty and the Beast Tees!

Beauty and the Beast 25th Anniversary Limited Release Tees
©Disney
What it is: This is a collection of Limited Release Beauty and the Beast T-Shirts. The collection includes two adult tees (a women's and a men's) and one girl's tee. These t-shirts commemorate the 25th anniversary of Beauty and the Beast (does anybody else feel old?).

What it Costs: The Adult tees are regular price $29.95 each and the Girl's tee is $24.95, but if you buy two, you can get them for $44 total. That brings the individual shirts down to $22 a piece.

Beauty and the Beast 25th Anniversary Tee for Women - Limited Release
©Disney
How to Get it: This offer is only available online. You don't need a promo code. The offer will be automatically added to your purchase at checkout. It is not available in stores, outlets, Parks, or resort locations. (Note: you may find these shirts in one of those locations, you just won't get the 2 for $44 deal.)

Worthy of Note: This is a "2 for $44" sale, NOT a "$22 when you buy 2 or more" sale. That means, if you buy three, you will get the first two for $44, but then the third one will be full price. However, I did notice that the order in which you add things to the bag matters, so if all you want is two adult tees and one kid's tee, you'll want to add the two adult tees first you get the discount on those and then add the kid's tee and pay full price for that one since it costs less anyway.

Beast Tee for Adults - Beauty and the Beast 25th Anniversary - Limited Release
©Disney
Is it a "Good Deal": Well, with these "Limited Release" tees, they're never really going to be cheap, but these particular shirts are a better deal than most of the Limited Releases offered lately. The recent YesterEars Limited Release Tees I wrote about in this post only came down to $24 each on sale. Similarly, the Hocos Pocus Limited Release Clothes I wrote about here also only came down to around $24 each with the sale that was offered. So, the fact that these tees can be had for $22 each does make them a pretty good deal as far as Limited Release Tees go.

Another way to look at it would be to say that, since the adult tees are regular price $29.95, getting them for $22 each when you buy two is like saving a total of around $18. That's almost enough for another shirt.

The fact is, it kind of doesn't matter if it's a good deal or not. Unlike a lot of "limited edition" things out there, these Disney Limited Release Tees are truly very limited and, once they're gone, they're gone. You're not likely to find a deeper discount on them at any point in the future, so if you want one, now is the time to get it.

Beauty and the Beast 25th Anniversary Tee for Girls - Limited Release
©Disney
My Thoughts: I've talked at length in other posts about my dislike for paying over $20 for a t-shirt, however, an occasion like the 25th anniversary of one of the greatest Disney movies ever made probably does warrant expensive t-shirts. I hesitate to comment on the art itself because it's such a matter of personal preference. I really like the pattern on the Girl's tee. I think they did a great job with that.

I don't personally like the image they chose for the women's tee, there are other things I would have liked to have seen more, but I can certainly see how a lot of people would want this shirt. The men's tee however, that one I'm not sure about. Whenever I look at one of these releases, I think, "Could I see the men I know wearing this?" For this one, the answer is "no". I can't really see any of the men I know picking this shirt. However, if you really like it, I would love to hear from you because, as I said, these are all really a matter of preference.

The Fine Print: This is the Fine Print Disney published to go with this sale.
  • Limited time offer, while supplies last. Valid only on Beauty and the Beast 25th Anniversary Limited Release Tees.
  • 2 for $44 pricing only applies when you purchase a minimum of 2 eligible promotional items.

Disney Deal of the Day: 25% Off Costumes & Costume Accessories

Hey There Disney Fans!

Well, it's happened, Disney has increased the discounts on it's Halloween Costumes to 25% off!

25% Off Costumes & Costume Accessories
©Disney
What it is: 25% off of Disney Costumes and Costume Accessories.

Who it's For: These almost all kid's, toddler, and baby costumes. No adult costumes are included, but there are some adult accessories included in this sale, so you might be able to find something to complete a costume you were working on.

How to Get it: This sale is available online, by phone, and in Disney and Disney Baby stores (for in-stock items). It is not available at outlets or in Parks. You don't need a promo-code, prices are already reduced.

Captain Phasma Costume for Kids - Star Wars: The Force Awakens
©Disney
Is it "Good Deal": Well, it's certainly a better deal than what they had going before. Previously, Halloween costumes were on sale for $10 Off. You can read about it in my post here. For some costumes, this new sale is only $11 or $12 off of the retail price so, the sale isn't that much better. However, for some of the costumes, there are significantly deeper discounts. The Captain Phasma costume for kids is now 50%. It looks to me like a lot of the costumes for babies or younger children, or costumes of older or less popular characters are pretty deeply discounted, where the more popular characters for older kids are still at least $10 off with some having a few more dollars' discount.

Thor Costume for Kids
©Disney
My Thoughts: As I discussed in my previous post on Halloween costumes, Disney costumes are just not cheap anywhere. Not even at Walmart. If you have a Costco membership, they do have significantly cheaper Disney costumes, but aside from that, there aren't much better deals to be found. There are some slightly cheaper costumes at Walmart, but not a lot.

I think it's a good sign that discounts have been increased, even if it's only by a couple of dollars. Since there is still more than a month until Halloween, you do have some time before you need to place your order and bigger discounts may be announced as we get closer to the end of October. However, the closer we get to Halloween, the more likely it is that costumes will sell out. Already, Black Panther costumes are sold out in most sizes as are some sizes of Darth Vader costumes.

Merida Costume for Kids
©Disney
If you area looking for REALLY popular characters, you might want to go ahead and place your order. However, if you want to risk it, I would maybe wait until after the first of October to see what kind of discounts are announced then. I wouldn't really wait any longer than that though because you don't want things to sell out and you REALLY don't want to order a Halloween costume and not get it until November 1st.

One More Thing: This is not costume related, but, just as a fun Halloween thing: you can get a Mickey or Minnie plush for $8.50 (regular price $14.95) whenever you buy $25 or more of other merchandise. They're REALLY cute and they would make great decorations or gifts.

  • Not valid on purchases made at Disney Store outlet locations or Disney Parks and Resorts locations.

Deal of the Day: $10 Classic Dolls

Hey there Disney Fans!

Today's highlighted Deal of the Day is $10 Classic Dolls! TODAY ONLY!!!

Today Only - Online Exclusive - Classic Dolls - $10 Each - reg. $16.95 - Select Styles
©Disney
What it is: This is a Deal where you can buy a doll from the Classic Dolls series for $10 instead of the usual $16.95.

Who it's For: Anyone who has people in their lives to buy dolls for. These are definitely more "play with" dolls than "collectible" dolls, so I would say this skews towards kids, but there is no judgment from the Disney Merch Maven if some of you adults want some too. Also, It's not just princesses, there a princes as well, so there may be appeal for the little boys in your life as well as little girls.

Li Shang Classic Doll - Mulan - 12''
©Disney

What it Costs: $10 plus shipping and tax.

How to Get it: This deal is available by phone or online only. It is not available in Disney stores, outlets, or Parks. You do not need a promo code, the discount is already shown. Hurry though, this deal is TODAY ONLY!!!

Cinderella Classic Doll with Gus Figure - 12''
©Disney

My Thoughts: I think this is a great sale and I really like these dolls. For one thing, they really did a good job capturing the characters. Your child won't have any trouble identifying who the doll is supposed to be. Also, I like that almost all of the princesses come with a little companion like a bluebird for Snow White and Pascal (her pet chameleon) for Rapunzel.

The dolls are a good size as 12" and then look like they sport less unrealistic body shapes than a Barbie. Speaking of Barbie: most of those are running around $25 retail these days, so these princess dolls are cheaper, although a bit smaller. If your little girl has her heart set on a Barbie, I'm not sure whether one of these dolls will work for you, but if she loves princesses, you can get her both a Princess and her prince for roughly the same price as that one Barbie would have been. That's a pretty good deal.

Pocahontas Classic Doll with Flit Figure - 12''
©Disney
I would say, if you think you might be buying dolls for anyone for Christmas or end of year birthdays, go ahead and jump on this sale TODAY. It's only one day and it's the best deal we're likely to see on these.

The Fine Print: This is the Fine Print Disney published to go with this sale.
  • Valid on select, in-stock Classic Dolls purchased via phone orders and orders placed online at DisneyStore.com.
  • Not valid on purchases made at Disney Store and Disney Baby Store retail and outlet locations or Disney Parks and Resorts locations.
  • Offer cannot be combined with any other offer or discount except available shipping offers.
  • No adjustments to prior purchases.
  • Merchandise subject to availability.
  • Returns and exchanges will be subject to discount taken at time of purchase.
  • Valid packing slip required for returns and exchanges.
  • Offer subject to restrictions and change without notice.
  • Void where prohibited.

What do you think? Do you like these dolls? Will you be getting one? Do you hate dolls and want everyone to know it? Let me know in the comments!

Hey Disney Fans!

Today's deal of the day is an extra 20% off of orders of $75 or more!

20% Off Your Order Of $75 or More CODE: SAVE20
(c) Disney Store

What it is: This is a sale that allows you to take 20% off of an order of $75 or more.

Worthy of Note: If you are still over the $75 mark after your discount, you can also use promo code SHIPMAGIC to get free shipping.

My Thoughts: This is a pretty standard sale. It includes a lot of things (I've listed the exclusions below in the Fine Print). If you're looking to buy some Halloween Costumes, this sale DOES apply to those. Also, Back-To-School items are still on sale and you can add this 20% Off on top of the sales currently available on those items. Deals of the Day: The Halloween Sales

Hey Disney Fans!

Today's highlighted Disney Deal of the Day is a rundown of the current Halloween Sales. There are a few different ones going on right now so, stick with me to the end because the one you're interested in might be further down.

FIRST! Let's start with the most general one: Free Shipping!

Ends Sunday - Free Shipping on Your Entire Order with Any Item in Our Halloween Shop - CODE: FREESHIP - Restrictions Apply. See Details
Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/halloween/mn/1000885/?RMID=20160909_FSHHalloween&RRID=20256769&CMP=EMC-eml
What it is: This is Free Shipping on your entire order when you include any item in the Halloween Shop.

How to Get it: Go to the Halloween Shop and add whatever merch you want to your cart. Then, add anything else from the Disney Store you want to your cart. At checkout, enter promo code FREESHIP to get free shipping on everything you're buying!

Is it a "Good Deal": Yes, yes it is. Unlike most Free Shipping promotions Disney runs, this one does not have a minimum dollar figure, so you can get your kid's costume and then those Tsum Tsum's you've had your eye on and get Free Shipping on all of them without having to come up to the usual $75 minimum. Good Deal.

Note: I'm putting all of the Fine Print for each of these deals at the bottom of the post so you can still read it, but it's out of the way. I always encourage my readers to read that Fine Print.

SECOND! Next we're heading to the $10 Off Select Costumes Sale!

$10 Off Select Costumes
Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/halloween/mn/1000885/?RMID=20160909_FSHHalloween&RRID=20256769&CMP=EMC-eml
What it is: This is a flat, $10 discount on SELECT costume styles from the Disney Store.

How to Get it: This discount is available by phone or online only. It is not available in stores. You do not need a promo code, the discount is already shown in red prices on the website.

Is it a "Good Deal": Well, that's a little tough to gauge. I discussed this in depth in my original post about this sale when it came out in August. The short version is: The costumes in this sale are still not cheap, but then, you're not all that likely to find them much cheaper anywhere else. Even Walmart's Disney costumes run around the same cost as the ones you'll find in this sale.

The only place I found that had distinctly cheaper Disney costumes was Costco, but you do need a Costco membership to buy there. In short, a lot of your decision will come down to what specific costume your kids want. If they want to be princesses and you have a Costco membership, go to Costco. If they want to be Alice from Through the Looking Glass, the Disney store is probably the only place you're going to find it and the $10 discount is a nice bonus.

THIRD! $8 Mickey or Minnie Mouse Treat Bad with any $25 Purchase!

$8 Mickey or Minnie Mouse Trick or Treat Bag with any $25 purchase - reg. $12.95 - While Supplies Last - Restrictions Apply. See Details
Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/mickey-minnie-halloween-treat-bags/mn/1018001/?RMID=20160909_FSHHalloween&RRID=20256769&CMP=EMC-eml
What it is: These are adorable Trick or Treat Bags Featuring either Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse. You can add them on to your order for only $8 is you are already buying at least $25 worth of Disney merch. Note: the faces on these bags also Glow in the Dark!

How to Get it: This offer is available online, by phone, in Disney Stores, in Disney Baby Stores, and in Disney Outlets. It is NOT available in Parks or Resorts. You don't need a promo code, just add your merch and the treat bag to your cart and you can get the discount.

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/bags-totes-accessories-minnie-mouse-trick-or-treat-bag/mp/1411209/1000291/
Worthy of Note: Once you have enough merch to get the discount on your first Trick or Treat bag, you can keep adding trick or treat bags and continue to get the discount on subsequent bags. You don't need to have $25 worth of merch for each bag.

Also, your qualifying $25 does NOT have to be Halloween merch. if there was something else you wanted (maybe some runDisney gear for an upcoming race or some of those H2O+ Bath Products that were a recent Find of the Day) you can go ahead and get that and then get your trick or treat bags.

Is it a "Good Deal": Yes, I think it is. Normally, these bags retail for $12.95, so $8 is almost a $5 discount. That's pretty good. Perhaps more importantly, it's a pretty good deal compared to just about any comparable Disney Trick or Treat bag you'll find out there. What do I mean by "comparable"?

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/bags-totes-accessories-mickey-mouse-trick-or-treat-bag/mp/1411211/1000291/
Well, as you can see, this bag is made of fabric, it has a glow-in-the-dark element, and looks generally well-made and reusable. Usually, when I look for price comparison, I would go to Walmart (they're frequently the cheapest of most things), but Walmart does not have any Disney Trick or Treat bags listed at all. the few bags or buckets they do have are cheaper than this one, but they're not fabric and they're not Disney so, they're not really comparable. If you're looking for Batman though, they have some really cool ones.

Etsy has several Disney Trick or Treat bags, but they're pretty much all over $10 and I hesitate to ever recommend Disney merch that is most likely unlicensed.

Really, the only place I saw that had anything that was really similar was Spirit Halloween. They have a variety of Disney Treat bags ranging from tote bags all the way up to plush bags. The ones that were most similar to the bags offered here are the Mickey or Minnie Mouse plush bags. Those sell for $12.99. In short, $8 for a nice bag like the one in this promotion is a good deal if that's the kind of thing you're looking for. If you just want a plastic bucket, there are cheaper things out there.

One side note: if you're ok with paying more, you might want to check out some of those plush bags from Spirit Halloween. They have Olaf and Flounder, and a few other styles that the Disney Store doesn't.

THE REST! There are several other deals out there on things that are vaguely Halloween related.

Hocus Pocus Limited Release Clothes: I talked about these in a recent special report. Essentially, these are a variety of t-shirts and one hoodie based on the 90's Halloween film, Hocus Pocus. They range in price from $27.99-59.99 and the current sale is BOGO 40% Off.

Dooney & Bourke Sales: the Nightmare Before Christmas and Haunted Mansion patterns are currently on sale for around 24-25% off. (Note, this does not include the new Jack Skellington pattern or the recently released non-Nylon Haunted Mansion pattern) Both of these patterns are eligible for the deal I discussed here where you can get a $29 D&B cosmetic case if you buy $100+ in D&B merch.

That's it for my list of Halloween deals. I will copy Disney's Fine Print below for the ones I haven't already put up somewhere else.

The Fine Print: This is the Fine Print Disney Printed to go along with these sales.

Disney Deal of the Day: Free Personalization on Fleece Throws

Hey there Disney Fans!

Today's highlighted Deal of the Day is Free Personalization on Fleece Throws!

Ends Sunday - Free Personalization on fleece throws - reg. $5.95 - CODE: FREEPZ - Restrictions Apply - See Details
Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/free-personalization-on-fleece-throws/mn/1029810/?RMID=20160908_FreePZFleece&RRID=20256769&CMP=EMC-eml
How cute are those? Full disclosure: It's really cold in my office right now, so these throws look AMAZING.

What it is: These are personalizable fleece blankets ("throws" for those who watch a lot of HGTV).

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/blankets-throws-bed-bath-home-decor-finding-dory-fleece-throw-personalizable/mp/1408351/1000334/
Who it's For: they're a bit on the smaller side at 60"x50" (around 5 feet by 4 feet) and they have a more cartoony look to them, so I think they're more aimed at the child demographic, but they would make a good lap blanket for anyone who just likes being warm and happy.

What it Costs: Well, here's some good news. Normally, these Fleece Throws are $19.95 each plus a few dollars for personalization, but right now the throws are on sale for $15 each and the personalization is FREE!

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/blankets-throws-bed-bath-home-decor-captain-america-fleece-throw-personalizable/mp/1408357/1000334/
How to Get it: This offer is available online or via phone order with promo code FREEPZ. It is also available in Disney Stores and outlets, but not in Parks.

My Thoughts: I really like this sale. First of all, these fleece throws are really cute. Also, I touched one and they're really soft and warm and fleecy. As we move into winter, they're going to be so nice to have.

I really like that they didn't just make personalization free, but they also discounted the price for the blankets themselves. These will make GREAT Christmas presents. I would recommend going ahead and ordering them now with this sale and saving them for a couple of months. If your family tends to open one present on Christmas Eve, I would say this one would be ideal.

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/blankets-throws-bed-bath-home-decor-anna-and-elsa-fleece-throw-personalizable/mp/1408365/1000334/
In my family, we had a tradition of going to a Christmas Eve service at church and then driving around the neighborhoods looking at Christmas lights and drinking hot chocolate. We used to all pile into the car on those cold, wintery, December nights underneath a pile of rough blankets our Great Grandmother had crocheted for us. While I loved those giant scratchy blankets for their warmth and their source, if I had not had a Great Grandmother with a penchant for yarn-craft I would have been very happy to have had a nice soft fleece to snuggle down under while looking for twinkling holiday lights. I highly recommend jumping on this sale. In fact, I think I'm going to look for what styles my family would enjoy right now.

The Fine Print: This is the Fine Print Disney published with this sale.
  • Valid on select, in-stock personalizable fleece throws purchased at Disney Store and Disney Baby Store North America retail and outlet locations or via phone orders and orders placed online at DisneyStore.com.
  • Not valid on purchases made at Disney Parks and Resorts locations.

That's it for today's Deal of the Day! What do you think? do you like this sale? Do you like Fleece Throws? Do you not understand why we can't just call them blankets? Let me know in the comments!

Disney Deal of the Day: Save Up to 70% Off When you Take an Extra 25% Off Already Reduced Items

Hey Disney Fans!

Today's highlighted deal of the day is: Save Up to 70% Off When you Take an Extra 25% Off Already Reduced Items... what?

Ok, that has to be one of the most confusingly worded sales they've done lately. Is it 70% off? Is it 25% off? What are they doing?

What it is: This is an announcement that you can take an extra 25% off of some items that are already marked down. In some cases, that means the items will get all the way down to 70% off. So, it's not really a 70% off sale. It's more of a bonus 25% off of already reduced items sale.

Haunted Mansion Nylon Leisure Shopper by Dooney & Bourke
Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/bags-totes-accessories-the-haunted-mansion-nylon-leisure-shopper-by-dooney-amp-bourke/mp/1387832/1000291/
Who it's For: People who want to buy the specific Disney stuff that's included in this sale. There are 363 items, so there's really something for everyone. I would specifically like to point out that the Dooney & Bourke Haunted Mansion bags (one is pictured above) that I discussed in the post about how to get a bonus discounted D&B cosmetic bag here are included. Also, those super cool Pirates of the Caribbean Tsum Tsums that were a Find of the Day a while back are included too. There's also a lot of other cool stuff.

How to Get it: This sale is available online, by phone, in stores, and in outlet stores, but it is NOT available in Parks or Resort stores. In order to get this deal online, put sale merchandise into your bag and then add promo code EXTRA25 at checkout.

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/plush-toys-pirate-captain-tsum-tsum-plush-pirates-of-the-caribbean-mini-3-12/mp/1399331/1000267/
Worthy of Note: for the D&B bags, you can add promo code EXTRA25 to get the discount, then add promo code DOONEY to get the $29 cosmetic bag, and finally add promo code SHIPMAGIC to get Free Shipping. I checked and it will let you add all three promo codes; you just have to enter them one at a time.

My Thoughts: This is a pretty great sale. As oddly worded as it may have been, there are really good deals to be found here on a variety of items. As I discussed in my Dooney & Bourke post, it's pretty rare for Disney to include those items in sales so, this sale is rather unique in that it has two different D&B patterns (Haunted Mansion and Nightmare Before Christmas) included.

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/school-supplies-arts-crafts-lightning-mcqueen-stationery-supply-kit/mp/1402875/1000215/
Another thing that I really like about this sale is that it includes a LOT of the Back-to-School items that were discussed in previous posts. Zipper kits like the cars one pictured above are $14.95 regular price. With this sale, they're down to $5.99. Even if your kids are already back at school, it might be good to pick some of these up for what I like to call the "January Fresh Start". (The January Fresh start is when you go through the backpack that's been sitting there since the start of Christmas break and realize that their school supplies have already taken a beating and few new pencils and a new notebook would probably be a good thing.)

The only thing that's not that great about this sale (as often happens with clearance sales like this) is that some things have very limited stock. For example, if you're looking for t-shirts, they have some really great ones and they're on really great sale at this point. The Minnie Mouse shirt below was originally $22.95. With this sale, it is down to $7.49 but, most sizes are sold out, so unless you're a medium or a small, you're probably out of luck. Still, there are a lot of items and a lot of deals to be had so, I would recommend checking it out.

Disney Deal of the Day: Buy One Get One 40% Off The Nightmare Before Christmas Limited Release Tees

Hey Disney Fans!

Today's highlighted Deal of the Day is Buy One Get One 40% Off The Nightmare Before Christmas Limited Release Tees.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Limited Release Items
Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/the-nightmare-before-christmas-limited-release-items/mn/1029803/?RMID=20160830_DooneyAlice&RRID=20256769&CMP=EMC-eml
What it is: This is a Buy one Get One 40% Off on t-shirts from the new Limited Release Nightmare Before Christmas collection.

Who It's For: People who like Nightmare before Christmas, people who like t-shirts, and people who like the Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion overlay.

Worthy of Note: These items are not regular Nightmare Before Christmas products. If you have been to Disneyland around the holidays then you may have noticed that some of the rides get special overlays. At Halloween, Space Mountain gets the Ghost Galaxy overlay and, around Christmas, the Haunted Mansion gets a Nightmare Before Christmas overlay.

If you haven't seen it, it's actually pretty cool. The Haunted Mansion gets a Nightmare Before Christmas storyline as well as most of the characters inserted into the ride in various places. The artwork being featured in this limited release, is specifically the overlay art from The Stretching Room.

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/tees-tops-shirts-clothes-jack-skellington-and-zero-tee-for-adults-haunted-mansion-holiday-limited-release/mp/1414306/1000228/

What it Costs: Around $44.78 plus shipping and tax. The t-shirts included in this sale retail for $27.99 each so, if you buy one and get the second one for 40% off, you'll get a discount of $11.20, resulting in a total for both shirts of $44.78.

How to Get it: This sale is available by phone or online only. You don't need a promo code. The discount will be automatically taken.

Is it a "Good Deal": Whether or not something is a "good deal" has two sides: 1) whether it's a good price and 2) whether it's a good value.

To deal with the price issue, for me, $27.99 is a lot to spend on a t-shirt. Getting a second one for around $16.80 doesn't make it feel that much better. With this deal, the average per shirt is around $22.39, which is really pretty close to the full retail price for non-Limited Release shirts all over the Disney Store. If you're just looking to get a t-shirt, even Nightmare Before Christmas t-shirt, there are better deals to be had.

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/tees-tops-shirts-clothes-lock-shock-and-barrel-tee-for-adults-haunted-mansion-holiday-limited-release/mp/1414314/1000228/
Alternatively, we could compare this "Limited Release" with other recent limited release deals. In the YesterEars t-shirt release I discussed in this post, the t-shirts were also retailing for $27.99 but, the deal offered was only $48 for 2 or $69 for 3, meaning you would have had to have bought 3 t-shirts before the average cost of each shirt was as low as the shirts in this sale. On the other hand, the Pete's Dragon limited release tees I discussed here were on sale for 2 for $44, which is a slightly better deal than this sale. In comparison with those sales, this one seems pretty middle-of-the-road as far as deals go.

However, if you specifically love the Haunted Mansion overlay, this is your first, and possibly your only opportunity to buy t-shirts with this art. If you're a Disneyland regular, if the Haunted Mansion is your favorite ride, if you have special memories of riding this version at the holidays, these shirts may have art that is very special to you. In that case, given the limited nature of the stock, I would recommend jumping on this even though the monetary discount is not that great. For the person who really loves this art, the sale is more of a bonus than an actual reason to buy the shirt.

One More Thing: It should be noted that, in addition to t-shirts, there are also various art prints available online. However, those are NOT subject to the sale.

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/tees-tops-shirts-clothes-oogie-boogie-tee-for-adults-haunted-mansion-holiday-limited-release/mp/1414311/1000228/

The Fine Print: This is the Fine Print Disney published to go with this sale.
  • Valid August 29, 2016 (12:01am PST) through September 5, 2016 (11:59pm PST) or while supplies last, whichever occurs first, on select, in-stock Nightmare Before Christmas Limited Release Tees purchased via phone orders and orders placed online at DisneyStore.com.
  • Not valid on purchases made at Disney Store and Disney Baby Store retail and outlet locations or Disney Parks and Resorts locations.
  • Regular prices apply when purchasing a single item or in odd-numbered quantities.
  • Offer cannot be combined with any other offer or discount, except available shipping offers.
  • No adjustments to prior purchases.
  • Merchandise subject to availability.
  • Merchandise must be exchanged for identical item(s).
  • Merchandise will only be compensated at lower of 2-item discounted price.
  • To return item(s) for originally paid price, both qualifying items must be returned.
  • All returns and exchanges will be subject to discount taken at time of purchase.
  • Valid packing slip required for returns and exchanges.
  • Offer subject to restrictions and change without notice.
  • Void where prohibited.
That's it for today's Deal of the Day. What do you think? Will you be buying one of these? do you love this art? Does it seem like all of the Limited releases are a lot? Let me know in the comments!

Disney Deal of the Day: $29 Dooney & Bourke Cosmetic Case with $100 Dooney & Bourke Purchase

Hey Disney Fans!

Today's highlighted Deal of the Day is a $29 Dooney & Bourke Cosmetic Case with $100 Dooney & Bourke Purchase.

$29 Dooney & Bourke Cosmetic Case with any $100 Dooney & Bourke purchase
Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/dooney-bourke/mn/1000812/
What it is: This is a deal where you can add a Dooney & Bourke cosmetic case to your $100+ D&B order for only an extra $29.

Who it's For: People who like D&B, people who are planning to buy D&B, people who want even more D&B.

How to get it: After you have added $100+ worth of pre-tax, pre-shipping D&B merchandise to your cart, add the promo code DOONEY at checkout. The cosmetic case will automatically be added to the cart.

Worthy of Note: this deal specifically give you the "Disney Sketch" pattern cosmetic case for $29 (as pictured above). You do not get a choice of what pattern you want so, this is really only a good deal for you if this is a pattern you like. Your $100+ purchase can be other patterns (like the ones shown below), but the $29 case is only available in the Disney Sketch pattern. It's pretty cute and very Disney, but everything is a matter of taste when it comes to accessories, so it's just something to keep in mind.

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/bags-totes-accessories-tim-burtons-the-nightmare-before-christmas-pouchette-by-dooney-amp-bourke/mp/1388014/1000291/
Is it a "Good Deal": Well, of course that depends on whether you like the pattern and whether you were planning on spending $100+ in the first place. However, if we're just looking at numbers, D&B cosmetic cases of this type generally run around $48 each. There aren't any currently listed on the Disney Store website, but it might be safe to assume that Disney-specific ones might sell for slightly more, if they were offered. In any case, this represents a savings of probably around $20. Not a huge discount when you consider how much you're spending overall but, a pretty good discount on the cosmetic bag itself.

My Thoughts: If you like the "Disney Sketch" pattern, and you were already planning on buying a more expensive D&B piece, this is a no-brainer: go for it. If you're more on the fence, there are some things to consider:

First, even if you don't like the pattern yourself, it is really cute and, since you're getting it at a steep discount, it might make a good gift for any of your Disney-loving friends (assuming you were planning to buy yourself  $100+ of some other pattern). Cosmetic bags don't go bad, so you can just put it away for Christmas.

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/bags-totes-accessories-the-haunted-mansion-nylon-crossbody-bag-by-dooney-amp-bourke/mp/1388016/1000291/

Second, D&B merch does not go on sale all that often (it's usually excluded from more general sales), so finding any discount at all is not to be ignored. As long as you're over that $100 mark, you CAN combine this with already discounted D&B merch. Right now, both the Haunted Mansion and the Nightmare Before Christmas patterns shown above are on sale at 24-25% off and are eligible for the cosmetic case add-on promotion. When you're looking at a discount on both the larger bag and the cosmetic case, this starts to look like a better deal.

Finally, it cannot be ignored that there are some really cool new patterns out there from D&B, including the Small World Collection and the brand new Alice in Wonderland Collection. Both of these have caught a lot of attention because of their beautiful representations of the classic film/rides. I don't know if you really need an excuse to want one of these but, maybe the deal for the cosmetic case will help push you over the edge to treat yo'self with one of these beauties. (Check out that Small World Shopper below!)

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/bags-totes-accessories-its-a-small-world-shopper-by-dooney-bourke/mp/1406014/1000291/
The Fine Print: This is the Fine Print that Disney published to go with this promotion.
  • Limited-time offer, while supplies last.
  • Purchase with Purchase pricing applies only with any qualifying $100 Dooney & Bourke Disney Parks Authentic Merchandise purchase.
  • The $29 price of the Dooney & Bourke cosmetic case will automatically be applied to the order.
  • Limit of one purchase with purchase per order.
  • Merchandise must be exchanged for identical item or returned at discounted price with valid packing slip.
  • No adjustments to prior purchases.
  • Valid on phone orders, orders placed online at DisneyStore.com and Disney Store outlet locations.
  • Discounts based on original retail prices.
  • Intermediate markdowns may have been applied.
  • Disney E-Commerce reserves the right to cancel or modify this offer at any time.
  • Void where prohibited.
One Last Thing: As the Fine Print says, this deal is good for "one purchase with purchase per order". It's not limited to a certain number per person. So, if you were planning on buying a lot of D&B bags, like getting one for each family member for Christmas, you may want to split out your order. Here's how:

For each of your orders, add enough D&B merchandise to get over the $100 mark. Then, at checkout add the promo code DOONEY. Once that code has been applied, you will be able to add another promo code. Add the promo code SHIPMAGIC to get Free Shipping. I checked and it WILL let you add both. Go ahead and complete that order. Once you've completed that order, go ahead and start filling your bag with your next D&B purchase and repeat.

Dooney & Bourke
Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/dooney-bourke/mn/1000812/?searchTerms=dooney&isSearchRedirect=1
Based on the Fine Print, you should be able to get another cosmetic case for $29 on your second order. I have not actually tested this, but since you won't have to pay any extra for shipping as long as you use the SHIPMAGIC promo code on each order, there's nothing lost in trying. If you're planning to buy 3 or 4 bags (most of which are over $100 to start with) then you may be able to get just as many cosmetic cases. At that point, you can keep them, give them as gifts, maybe give them as an accompaniment to the larger purses, or find them new homes on eBay. Note: I don't advocate buying something out on the Disney Store to make a profit on eBay. That's not likely to work and it's not nice to other collectors. I'm just informing that you may be able to get extra cosmetic cases at a discount.

That's all for today's Deal of the Day. What do you think? Do you like this deal? Do any of these bags strike your fancy? Do you just not get the big deal with D&B? Let me know in the comments!

Disney Deal of the Day: 25% Off of 2016 Dated Items

Hey Disney Fans!

Today's highlighted Deal of the Day is 25% off of 2016 Dated Merch!

25% Off Dated 2016 Collection
Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/dated-2016/mn/1030209/

What it is: This is a sale where you get 25% off of merchandise with "2016" printed on it (with some exclusions).

Who it's for: People visiting Disney in 2016, people for whom 2016 was a big year, and people who just like discounted Disney merch.

How to get it: This sale is available by phone or online here only. It is not available in any stores, Parks, or outlets. You do not need any type of promo code. Although, as always, if you're buying more than $75 worth of pre-tax merch, you can use promo code SHIPMAGIC to get Free Shipping at checkout.

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/bodysuits-clothes-sorcerer-mickey-mouse-and-friends-bodysuit-for-baby-girls-walt-disney-world-2016/mp/1391266/1000388/
My Thoughts: Disney does this pretty much every year. They make a certain amount of merchandise with the year's date on it. When more than half of the year goes by, they begin to discount this merchandise. As we get closer to the end of the year, whatever merchandise is left will become more and more deeply discounted, but stocks of certain items will run out.

My recommendations on whether or not to take advantage of this sale have to do with why you want the merchandise. If you're going on a family vacation and you want everyone to have dated shirts to wear for pictures, this is a good sale and it's a good idea to jump on it. If you've already been on your vacation and you're looking for something to commemorate it, this might be a good sale but, depending on how flexible you are about WHAT your dated item is, you might want to wait until later in the year.

Image from Disney Store website: https://www.disneystore.com/pin-accessories-pins-collectibles-mickey-mouse-and-friends-pin-trading-booster-set-disney-parks-2016/mp/1393489/1000285/

At the end of the year, there will be very few dated items left in stock, but whatever is left will be more deeply discounted than it is now. Essentially, if you're willing to wait and you don't mind the gamble on what you actually get, you can probably get a better deal later. If you're concerned about getting a specific item that is available now, I would say go ahead and jump on this one. 25% off is not at all a bad deal.
