Hey There Disney Fans!
I am SO excited about today's Find of the Day! Some of you may have heard it was coming, but what you may not know is: it's already here! The Disney Castle from Lego!!!
Normally, this is where I would put a picture but, I could not find one in a usable format. You can view it one the Lego store website here.
What it is: This is a 4,080 piece Disney Castle made of Legos intended for builders ages 16+. The Disney Castle mostly resembles Cinderella's Castle in Disney World. The Disney Castle also comes with a variety of minifigures including Mickey and Minnie.
What it Costs: $349.99 plus shipping and tax. Note: on the Lego website, shipping on items over $35 is usually free. Free Shipping should be automatically applied to your order at checkout but, this is only available in the contiguous United State and Canada so, if you're in Alaska, Hawaii, or outside the US and Canada, you may still have to pay for shipping.
How to get it: Well, here's where it gets tricky. Technically, this castle doesn't come out until September 1st, BUT if you are a Lego VIP member, you can go ahead and order yours NOW!!!
Why it's a Find of the Day: While Lego puts out many Disney Castle playsets intended for younger kids, this if the first time that they've put out a large-scale one intended for older/adult builders. That makes this a totally unique, never before seen piece of Disney merchandise.
Additionally, like all Lego merchandise, this gives you an opportunity to build one of your favorite things. Legos make for great group/bonding activities (for people age-appropriate for this project) and, when you're finished, you have something beautiful to put in your home.
Finally, for those of you who have never taken on one of these larger Lego projects before, let me tell you that you are in for a treat. Not only does Lego put out a beautiful product on the outside, but they make an effort to go into great detail on the inside as well. As you build, you will find that you are completing and furnishing areas on the inside that you might not even see when the project is complete. Such is their dedication to detail. Lego really makes great products and I am so excited that they are teaming up with Disney to create what it sure to be an incredible product.

Disney Deal of the Day: Oh Baby 30% off Sale
Hey Disney Fans!
Today's highlighted Disney Deal of the Day is a 30% off sale on select baby items.
That's pretty ridiculously cute.
What it is: This is a sale where you get a 30% discount on select baby items including costumes, décor, sleepwear, and more.
Who it's For: Babies, people with babies, people who know babies.
How to get it: This deal is available online here, by phone, in the Disney Store, at Disney Baby, and in Disney Outlets. No mention was made of whether it is available in Parks but, my guess is that, if the eligible items are in stock, this discount is probably available in parks as well. No promo code is needed, the discount should automatically be taken.
My Thoughts: I like this sale a lot. There are some incredibly cute items like the 101 Dalmatians Jumper Set for Baby shown above. The other thing I really like about this sale is that it's a real 30% off sale. All of the items listed are actually 30% off. Sometimes a sale will say "up to" 30% off and most of the items will really only be 10% off but, not this one. This one really has a large variety of items that are actually 30% off.
The other thing I like about this sale is that it includes some of the more expensive items sold in the Disney Baby stores like complete Crib Bedding sets. Sometimes a sale like this will only include lower priced items but, this one includes things like the Mickey Mouse Crib Bedding set shown below is usually $129.95, but with this sale, it's down to $90.96. That's still expensive, but it's a lot better.

Find of the Day: Storybook Classics Monthly Ornaments & Pins
Hey there Disney Fans!
I am really excited about today's Find of the Day because it's not just one find, it's several months worth of finds! Yay!
Ok, ok, excitement aside, today's Find of the Days are the Storybook Classics Monthly Ornaments & Pins!!! Yay! (yeah, I'm really pretty excited.)
What it is: These are completely wonderful ornaments and pins being released each month. Each set commemorates a Disney Classic and the storybooks those classics are based on.
Who it's For: Anyone who likes Disney Ornaments or Disney Pins, people who like Disney Classics, People who like Storybooks, and anyone who just likes cute little things.
What it Costs: So far, only the first month (August) has been released but, the ornament for August is listed at $19.95 plus shipping and tax and the pin is listed at $14.95. Prices may vary but, I think we can expect most months to be around the same.
How to Get it: These are an online exclusive available only here.
Why It's A Find of the Day: I Love these! There are so many Disney Shorts that may not sound all that familiar at first, but once you see them you think, "Oh yeah, I remember seeing that when I was a kid." These shorts, either independently produced or created as a part of an anthology released as a full-length film, are a hugely important part of both Disney history and the Disney library of animated work.
This yearlong series will commemorate these important works and feature everything from full-length feature films like Snow White and Mary Poppins to compilation films like Make Mine Music, Fun and Fancy Free, and Melody Time, which featured classics like Mickey and the Beanstalk, Pecos Bill, and Peter and the Wolf. What this collection has in common is that they are all Disney classics based on storybooks. At this point, a lot of the Disney cartoons are more famous than the original storybooks.
I am particularly excited about this one because it highlights some great Disney animation that many have now forgotten. While most of us have heard of Snow White, I was shocked to learn that there are plenty of people who haven't heard of Casey at Bat. I am a huge fan of Lambert the Sheepish Lion (to be commemorated in November), but not that many people remember it anymore. It's a great story and I think it's wonderful that it's being commemorated in ornaments and pins.
Worthy of Note: I particularly wanted to report on this Find now because August is the first month these are being released, so everyone will have the opportunity to get in at the beginning and not miss any of these. One will be put out every month for a year, so it's a great opportunity to start a collection.

Deal of the Day: Free Shipping on Disney Halloween Items!
Hey There Disney Fans!
Todays highlighted Deal of the Day is a deal on Halloween Items!
What it is: This is a deal where you get free shipping on your entire order if it includes items from the Disney Store Halloween shop. Note: there is also a deal going on where you can get $10 off of select costume styles in the Halloween shop and you can combine those offers.
Who it's for: Anyone looking for Halloween items. There are a number of items for adults as well as kids, and it's not just costumes. There are home décor items and accessories in addition to costumes and other products.
How to Get it: For the Free Shipping Deal, all you have to do is have any item from the Halloween Shop in your cart and enter promo code FREESHIP at checkout. As I noted above, there are a few baby and kid costumes that are also on sale for $10 off that are eligible for this sale here.
Is this a "Good" Deal: Since there are two parts to this deal, we will take them one at a time.
1) Free Shipping on Halloween orders: Yes, the Free Shipping part is a good deal. Free Shipping is pretty much always a good deal if it's something you were planning to buy anyway so, if you like the Halloween items then, yes, it's a good deal. Also, since there is no minimum dollar amount to get free shipping, this can be a very good deal if you want one of the Halloween items and maybe one or two other things from the website that would not otherwise qualify for free shipping.
2) $10 off of select costumes: Whether or not this is a "good deal" depends much more on personal preference. Even with the discount, the cheapest costume available on this sale is still $22.99 and most of the costumes are still over $30. That sounded like a bit much to me but, when I checked what Walmart had, almost all of their kid's Halloween costumes were $24+ with many of them over $30 as well.
Target has a fair selection of kid's Disney costumes for under $20 but, many of those are available in-store only so, your ability to find the exact sizes and styles you want will vary by what your particular store chooses to stock. So far, the best selection of Disney kid's costumes for under $20 that I've seen is was at Costco.
The Costco near me has a wide variety of Star Wars and Marvel costumes for Boys as well as a variety of Disney Princess costumes for girls including Elsa, Anna, Belle, Rapunzel, and various other character costumes. All of the kid's costumes I saw were listed at less than $20. You can see all of them online here, but you will need to have a Costco membership in order to purchase these.
In short, the free shipping is a good deal and, if you like the costumes that are available at the Disney Store online, the $10 off deal might be good as well, but you might want to consider Costco as well if you have a membership.

The costumes available on the Disney Store website are extremely cute and they look well made and have a lot of cool accessories to go with them. Find of the Day: TaleSpin DVD Set

Does the image on the front of that DVD warm your heart and make you feel deeply happy inside? If not, you need to buy it and find out why it should!
What it is: This is a DVD with 11 episodes of one of the best shows ever to grace Disney afternoons.
What it Costs: $12.95 plus shipping and tax.
How to get it: This is available from the Disney Store website here, but I have also seen episodes available at Costco.
Why it's a Find of the Day: Well first of all, TaleSpin was an AMAZING show. It used characters loosely based on Jungle Book characters and set them around a cargo plane company struggling to survive. It was fun, adventurous, witty, and had a spunky, young, air-skateboarder. It was amazing and should be preserved and watched by a new generation.
The second reason this is a Find of the Day is because I wanted to highlight the fact that this, and other classic Disney afternoon TV shows are available on the Disney Store website. You may be able to find them a few other places as well but, you can pretty consistently find them on the Disney Store online. In addition to TaleSpin, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, and Goof Troop as well as some other 90's favorites like X-Men and Gargoyles are also available.

It's fine but, if you're planning on spending that much, I would check here for other sales before I committed to this one. You may find there are better deals available. Second up: is the Pete's Dragon Limited Release T-Shirt Sale, ENDING TUESDAY.

What it is: This is a sale on the Limited Release T-Shirts for the new Pete's Dragon movie.
What it Costs: the sale is $44 for 2 T-Shirts. You can mix and match styles from the selection here.
Who it's For: anybody who's a fan of the new Pete's Dragon movie, anybody who likes Dragons, and anyone who likes T-shirts with unique art.
How to Get it: This offer is available online only. You don't need to add a promo code, if you put two eligible shirts in your cart, you should get the discount. This sale ENDS TUESDAY.
My Thoughts: Well, 2 for $44 means these shirts are on "sale" for $22 each. That's pretty much what the regular price for most Disney T-Shirts is so, I wouldn't exactly call this a fabulous bargain from that perspective. However, because these are Limited Release shirts showcasing the art of Pete's Dragon, they are listed as having a regular retail price of $24.95-$29.95 each. So, from that perspective, $44 is potentially a discount of $15.90, which is not too bad.
I will admit I was a bit incredulous when I first saw this sale because the pricetag seemed pretty high for just two T-Shirts, but having seen the product, I can kind of see the justification. Yes, it's a lot for 2 shirts but, they are really beautifully designed and unique. And, of course, the Limited Release factor means that not everyone will be wearing one. There are three styles to choose from and you can mix and match the ones you like.
Overall, the price is definitely a bit high for me but, if you love the art, I'd say you should probably go ahead and jump on this one.

Pro Tip: Unlike many sales of this type, the discount is taken in the order in which you place things in the cart. I put the two most expensive shirts in my cart first and then put the cheapest (the $24.95) shirt in my cart last. Find of the Day: Matterhorn Trash Can Salt or Pepper Shaker

Today's Find of the Day is a Matterhorn Trash Can Salt or Pepper Shaker!
Is that the cutest thing ever or what?
What it is: It's a Salt or Pepper Shaker that is designed to look like the garbage cans from Disneyland near the Matterhorn.
What it Costs: $9.95 plus shipping and tax.
Who it's For: Anybody who likes the Matterhorn, anyone who appreciates the garbage cans of Disneyland, anybody who wants to season their food, and people who understand the value of extreme cuteness.
Why it's a Find of the Day: Look how CUTE it is!!! Ok, so that's no enough reason to be a Find of the Day. It IS adorable though. The real reason this is a Find of the Day is that it commemorates one of my favorite things about Disney Parks: The incredible attention to detail and intricate theming.
Walt Disney insisted when he made his Parks that each land should be a totally immersive experience, right down to the garbage cans. They did such a good job that there are whole blogs and websites specifically aimed at appreciating the theming of the garbage cans of the Disney Parks. http://www.magicaltrash.com/ has pictures of well themed Disney trashcans from Disney Parks all over the world.
At various times, Disney has produced salt and pepper shakers depicting a variety of different trashcans at the Disney Parks but, currently, this is the only one listed. Since it seems like Disney might be moving away from making these, if you want one, it's probably a good idea to jump on this before it's gone.
The fact that it's such a great tribute to Disney Parks design and detail as well as the fact that these salt and pepper shakers are getting harder to find makes this a Find of the Day.
